well i always said that angling is a funny old game and if we knew what was gonna happen we probably woudnt go so much , so after the events of the last two weeks i should have expected something strange to happen but to be honest nothing could have prepared me for what happened in the last 72 hours. it all started on saturday morning when adam was packing up after what was, it has to be said a very slow week he had at 9-30am a common at 37-5 that i recognised as a fish that i have told many of you about the bullet hole common which i first caught at 21 lb in oct 06 and cant say i have seen till saturday so it was a nice end to a very slow but enjoyable week. However it was only the start of a very strange 72 hours and many nice fish were caught (see latest news) however on tuesday morning i was woken by a very excited voice saying "graham wake up them jammy f******s have just landed a grass carp to which i replied ********** you better not be winding me up, no came the reply so i was soon in lillys photographing a 36 grassy and telling ben how he had won a free holiday. I have to say i was more than happy especially after the last two weeks that had been just as frustrating for me as the anglers but hey things were now different so i left the swim after congratulating ben and said "i reckon you might get another one yet" 1 hour later another excited voice said "graham hes got another one its bigger so i then witnessed a 43-9 grassy. Now in the meantime since saturday mornings bullet hole common there had been a 53-14 and three more 45+s landed and several good commons of 40+ and 38, 37-12 ,35 etc it was certainly" picking up a bit" I left the lake to sort out some things down the town with lilly and on returning i was beckoned over to the west bank by some very obvious hand gestures froim our friends from liverpool only to be informed that anthony had had another grass carp of 38-6 so i said what anyone else would say but the camera does not lie "least not in this case" after a couple of celebrations anthony was away again and after a drawn out fight and some very frustrating moments he pulled his prize over the draw cord "it was only the same fish alan had on sunday and after witnessing and weighing both captures i can say it was slightly bigger at 55-1 it was pooing out bait and had obviously been well on the feed. It just all goes to show you never know what is round the corner aqnd roll on the next grassy its not too far away.
