The Owners

ETANG des "DEUX PIERRES" is owned and run by Graham Wall and Jane Anderson, Graham is a carp angler with 25 years experience of fishing a great variety of waters from small club waters at home to the mighty lakes of France, Romania and South Africa.  Graham is nearly always on the lake for help and advice and when not on site one of our representatives is always at hand to help.  Grahams long term partner Jane takes care of things in the office to keep things running smoothly.

The Lake

Deux Pierres is a stunning 14 acre lake with an island and it is set in the famous Champagne region of France just ten minutes from the market town of Vitry le Francois and is an easy 4 hour drive from the ports of Calais, Dunkerque and Boulogne. The lake is fully enclosed with a two metre high fence with lockable gates.

There are 10 swims some of which could easily be doubles for a maximum of 8 anglers. This gives anglers plenty of room with some swims having the option of fishing the island and others having plenty of open water with various features to each swim from the obvious margins to overhanging trees, the island, various bars and troughs, gravel, sand and silt pockets.

The Fish

The lake was originally stocked with 170 carp in 2002. These fish were not fished for until September 2006 when I went there to do some test fishing. The fishing was obviously prolific with 50 fish averaging 21 pound caught in a short session of only fishing days. However, since then we have been piling the bait in including 1 ton of high protein carp pellet and the fish are growing very quickly with many of the original stock now being 28-30 pounds (January 2007).  In January 2007 a further 60 carp were added, the majority of which were 30+ including several 40’s up to a brace weighing 46-8 each (common and mirror). These are all farm bred fish and are expected to put weight on quickly once on the pellet and bait.

December 2008

In December 2008, we added a further five carp including a 51lb common, a 45lb mirror and 3 very pretty 20's (please see latest news 2008).

There are no poisson chat or bream to our knowledge, however we have caught several rudd over 3 pound on small baits. We have 3 catfish, their last recorded weights being 85lb, 106lb and 116lb.  We also have one sturgeon around the 25lb mark.  We have seen several grass carp, some of them looking very big, but as yet none have been caught.  The fish are regularly fed on high protein carp pellet.

3.5 Ton of Carp added - (Oct/Nov 2007)

We at "Deux Pierres" are proud to announce that we have increased the stock added in Oct/Nov 2007 to 3.5 TONS.  The original order was as follows:-  1 ton of Carp 12-14 kilo (26-30lbs) 80 FISH, half ton of Carp 14-16 kilo (30-35lbs) 32 FISH, 10 Carp of 18 + kilo (40+lbs) 10 FISH.  We have now added to this with half ton of Carp 8-10 kilo (17-22lb) 60 FISH, one and a half ton of Carp 10-12 kilo (22-26lb) 140 FISH.  So we can now safely say we have 500 + carp in the lake to 50 plus.  There will be a few mores surprises in store so please keep an eye on Latest News for 2008/9 at "DEUX PIERRES".

Facilities and Extra Facilities at Etang des "Deux Pierres"

There are English style toilets and shower facilities at one end of the lake with an additional toilet for the swims that are away from the main toilet and shower block. There is also facilities for charging of batteries for bait boats, phones etc. ETANG des "DEUX PIERRES" has added to one of the swims, known as "The Beach", a wooden cabin which can easily accomodate two bed chairs plus extras for that little bit of comfort and ease.  We also have on site for use by the anglers large UNHOOKING MATS and WEIGH SLINGS in every swim.  So to save space you don't need to bring them!! Also on site are freezer and fridge facilities for your bait and your food.
